Leon County Community Coalition

Providing Prevention Programs throughtout Leon County

The coalition has worked to empower individuals and communities through the latest

research on effective prevention strategies and has been responsible for implementing the

prevention services throughout Leon County.

  The prevention programs provide services on-site at all school districts during the day and after-school to all elementary students’ grades 3-5th and some 6^th grade in each school district.

LCCC has worked closely with school officials for past six years. Currently, we are able to collaborate with schools on using teachers and school counselors to facilitate the prevention programs.

 Using this approach has shown successful due to that these facilitators already have a relationship built with the targeted audience and know the needs of each student which gives more opportunity to achieve success.
